"Art is a fruit that grows in man like a fruit on a plant, or a child in its mother’s womb."

Jean Arp (1886–1966), also known as Hans Arp, was a Franco-German artist and poet, best known as a founding member of the Dada movement. Born in Strasbourg, Arp worked across multiple disciplines including sculpture, painting, poetry, and collage. He was deeply involved in avant-garde circles in Zurich, Paris, and Cologne, collaborating with artists such as Max Ernst and Sophie Taeuber-Arp, his wife. Arp’s abstract, organic forms and use of chance in art were influential in the development of modern art. Later, he became associated with Surrealism and Constructivism, leaving a lasting legacy through his biomorphic sculptures and innovative ideas.
